BIG LEBOWSKI SPAGHETTI-O-S Recipe







SPAGHETTI-O’S !!!


Spaghettti-O’s? OK, what pure-blooded American kid hasn’t eaten tons of SpaghettiOs over the years. Well some I guess, if they had parents that didn’t like processed foods. Dude was actually too old to have eaten them as a child as Spaghetti-O’s weren’t invented and put on the market til 1965. No Dude discovered then in college when a college buddy of the Dude turned him on the wonderful little invention, round shaped pasta in tomato straight from the can. All you had to do was open the can, dump the Spaghetti-O’s into a pan and heat them up, and “Voila” you had a tasty little meal ready in minutes. Kids just loved them, and they still do. They’re a favorite of Stoners who are known to get serious munchies, which of-course includes our pal, The Dude. Dude has loved these tasty little suckers ever since his first taste. He usually keeps a couple cans on hand for a fast, quick, and easy; lunch, dinner, or late-night munchies attack. However, one day, one of Dudes other buddies showed Dude how to make his own home-made Spaghetti-O’s and with or without “Franks” (Hot Dogs) or Meatballs. Dude just loved the idea and makes himself a big-batch now and then, which once made, Dude can keep in a container in the fridge, to be heated-up at will in just a few minutes time. Great idea.







"Make Your Own Duder Home-Made SPAGHETTI-O'S


DUDES HOME-MADE SPAGHETTI-O’S

 INGREDIENTS:

1 pound of Anelli Pasta
5 cups of Tomato Sauce, recipe page 117
1 tablespoon Sugar, 2 tablespoons salt
6 Hot Dogs, cut into ½” pieces
Grated Cheese (optional)
1.  Heat tomato sauce with Hot-Dogs and sugar in a small pot over low heat for 7 minutes.
2.  Fill a 6 quart pot with water and 2 tablespoons salt. Bring to the boil.
3.  Add Anelli (round pasta rings) to rapidly boiling water and cook according to directions on package.
4. When the Agnelli (pasta rings) are cooked, drain into colander, reserving a ¼ cup water. Put pasta back into the pot it cooked in. Add Olive Oil and mix. Add the tomato sauce with the Hot Dogs and mix.
5. Serve yourself a bowl of Spaghetti-O’s & Franks and your guests if you have any. Place any leftover Spaghetti-O’s in a container to be easily reheated for another quick and tasty meal in-no-time-flat!
Note: You can make the Spaghetti-O’s without the Hot Dogs for original recipe, or you can add a batch of little DaFino Meatballs

(recipe page 128, make them small) for Spaghetti-O’s & Meatballs. Now that’s just awesome. That’s 3 meals in one.

BIG LEBOWSKI STYLE EGGS






DUDES SOFT BOILED EGGS

    Did you know that they have Special little holders just for Soft Boiled Eggs that are really nice and can be quite elegant or whimsical if you wish.
   When I was a young child I used to Love eating Soft Boiled Eggs from the Little Clown Egg Holder that my mother bought for me.  Wish I still had that! I Loved it. Dude said he had one of those buggers too. He still has his and goes back to his childhood whenever he pops in some toast as he’s cooking his soft-boiler. Four minutes and she’s done. Dude got his cup of coffee, and he butters some toast, then places the Soft Boiled Egg in his Clown Soft Boiled Egg Holder. Cool man! He cracks into the top of the egg. Scoops some out and onto the toast. Takes a sip of coffee. Yumm, just the way The Dude likes things, simple, uncomplicated, and easy. And when it comes to food, tasty and cheap will do The Dude just fine, “Thank You.”
   If you don’t have one of these special egg-holder like the Dude, don’t fret. Serve the eggs on a regular plate with buttered toast and enjoy. The Clown Egg Holder does make the experience  a bit more fun. Quite animated, especially for kids, and the Dude wouldn’t eat them any other way.


COOKING THE SOFT-BOILED EGG


1. Take an Egg, 1, 2, 3, or for, however many you need. Usually when eating Soft Boiled Eggs, people have just one with one or two Pieces of Butter Toast. 

2. OK, you get an Egg; One, Two, Three, or Four. Put the Egg or Eggs in a small pot and cover the eggs with water.

3. Turn the heat to high and bring water to the boil. As soon as the water comes to the boil, lower the heat so the water is at a slow simmer. Time 4 minutes from this point, and let the Eggs cook in the lightly simmering water for 4 minutes for a Four-Minute-Egg or 3 minutes for a 3 Minute Egg which will naturally be cooked less. For me and most people a Four Minute Egg is best.

4. Remove the egg from the water and put it in a Special Soft Boiled Egg Cup (Holder)

5. Oh! I almost forgot. How to eat the Egg? Just in case you don’t know. Simply take a teaspoon and crack the egg in a circle going around the top of the egg. Take off the top of the egg. Scoop the egg out of the shell and place on toast. Eat and Enjoy, and always Abide!
